The brain is a puzzle

We experience life from inside our skulls. We are trapped there by nature. We are never to escape this prison. We must make the most of what we have in here in order to just exist.

We move thru our environment, as we move, our senses deliver to our brains the energy signals that stimulate them. For the sake of this exercise let us call this a stream of experiences (delivered to us from the outside). This is a movie of full immersion sensory experience. Sounds, sights, smells, textures, pressures, light and dark, heat, cold, loud, quiet, lungs breathing, Hearts beating, muscles pumping as we move, strange and wonderful feeling as our hormones stimulate us.

This data stream of our experiences is collected, and stored in our system of neurons we call a brain (The form of the storage is the machine language of our brain's wetware).

We experience the results of this sensory data collection and storage as sensory experience. This is the machine language we are reading back from our brains in the form of stored memories.

These internally stored and internally experienced and re experienced events are private to us. Entirely invisible to the rest of humanity or anything else for that matter. These memories are forever our thoughts only. They make up the basis for our world experience. These are messages from outside .... (the environment) delivered to the inside as life experiences.

Based on this information storage we can begin to CREATE a model of the outside (the world out there, ...... the environment in and thru, which we must move and find the things we need to survive) We have to predict that is make a guess based on these data memories of our experiences where we are, where to go to get the energy we must consume to continue moving and guessing and searching. We must do this all in the dark just from memory. Whew!

We must do all this in total darkness. From within. How can we do this !! Certainly it is an impossible task. What evil creature could have or would have left us in this plight? Alone in the dark and never to escape?

Nature is the culprit. It is nature who has left us alone in the dark totally defenseless from our enemies. This is the best nature can conjure. Left alone for 15 billion years. This is the end result.

Here we are. Each and every of us. In the dark. No weapons. Just senses and neurons and memory.

Wait ...... have I left something out hmmmmmm maybe so ........ what the h... could it be?
It just doesn't feel quite complete. Oh ! That's it ..... I forgot Pain ......... oh yes and pleasure tooooo. Cant forget pleasure can we ......?

Oh well thats enough mystery for now ............. maybe tomorrow will bring more .... and yet it might be here already or not.
